Booming Games makes entry into Portugal 12 April 2024

Exciting igaming news just hit Portugal. Booming Games which has been making strides to increase its global presence has finally received approval in Portugal.

The approval comes after Booming Games got certification in Portugal proceeding to the next and final step to allow it to operate in the country. The igaming company received approval from Serviço de Regulação e Inspeção de Jogos Turismo de Portugal, the country’s gambling authority and regulator.

Frederik Niehusen, Chief Commercial Officer at Booming Games, said: “We’re thrilled to have secured full certification in Portugal, a key step in expanding our presence in this rapidly growing market.”

The approval allows the gaming giant to create partnerships with online operators in Portugal, The partnerships will be beneficial in expanding the variety of slot games being offered in the Portuguese igaming market.

The game offering by partners of Booming Games will add to the portfolio of games that are more suited to cater to different player tastes and preferences.

"We look forward to leveraging this achievement to drive sustained growth and deliver gaming experiences to players across Portugal. 2024 is an exciting year for us, and we will deliver more updates shortly," Niehusen said, teasing an imminent launch with partner operators.

Some of the popular titles from the company that are expected to enter the market include Gold Gold Gold, TNT Bonanza, Cash Pig, Buffalo Hold and Win and Space Cows to the Moon.

Where else has Booming Games done this before?

Experience is important to establish whether this new approval will be successful in achieving the benefits it promises.

This is not Booming Games’ first approval for an expansion into different geographical territories. In the past, the company has received approval in Latin America specifically in Peru. The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism processed their approval. 

More so, it has been approved in Ontario, a major North American city, where it has a B2B licence.

The company has also created partnerships on the African continent with BetFounders

Finally, closer to Portugal, in Europe, it has partnered with RoyalCasino in Denmark.

Besides the Booming Games approval, Portugal has approved other international igaming brands in the country. Other notable partnerships include Betway in partnership with GiG launched in January, MGA and Solverde.pt in March and 3Oaks Gaming acquired certification allowing it to operate in Portugal. 

The partnerships paint a positive picture of the value and importance of licenced operators in Europe and globally.
