Two sides with a lot to prove will open the Group D race, as one of the favorites will go against one of the World Cup finalists! Both teams are expected to be a threat later on in the competition, but their progress is largely based on how they’ll do here!

The Three Lions have a lot of pressure on them, with many expecting them to finish somewhere at the top. Manager Gareth Southgate knows that the current crop of players is one of the best in England’s history - a perfect blend of experience and youthful tenacity. They’ve won 8 of their last 10 games, and are in red-hot form, so we expect them to go on the offensive against Croatia from the get-go!

The Croats also have a lot of expectations on their shoulders, since they finished as the World Cup finalists on the last World Cup. The current generation of players is full with top talent, with many players plying their trade in some of the best teams in the world. From both teams, only Jordan Henderson and Bukayo Saka, both from England, will miss the match due to injury.
