The Belgium top football league will launch the 2021/2022 season tonight with the opening match between St. Liege and Genk. Last season was finished in an unconventional way by shortening the campaign because of the pandemic. So this season the Belgium football association hopes that everything is going to run at a normal pace through the whole season. KRC Genk on the other hand ended up as the second-best club in the top Belgium Championship right after Club Brugge, where only the goal difference was the reason for not ending up first since both teams had 44 points. So this season the Blue-White’s will definitely do their best to end up as the best team in the Belgium League. John van den Brom was disappointed in the Super Cup final this month, where they lost the game from their big rival Club Brugge, but Genk bounced back great in the next game against Maastricht and won the game with 5:2. So tonight the Blue-White’s will bring their best to start the season with positive results in their visiting match against St. Liege.
