Manchester City VS PSG Match Preview 04 May 2021

Manchester City are on the brink of reaching their first Champions League final, courtesy of a 2-1 away at PSG. The second leg however, can be a tricky affair for them, as the Parisiennes will look to give it their all to make it two finals in a row.

Manchester City come into the game on the back of a scintillating form, having lost just three of their last twenty games, winning the other seventeen. Pep Guardiola will look to break his unlucky UCL run, and get City into the final and potentially do what he was brought at the club to do - make the Citizen kings of Europe. With his team firing on all cylinders and having rested the majority of players in the league, he should have a fresh lineup, something that was hard to pull off for any team in this one-of-a-kind season.

Paris Saint Germain are doing fine in the league, and still have a fight on their hands if they’re to win the French championship. They sit second, a point behind leaders Lille. Coach Mauricio Pochettino will look to rally his troops and get them to the final, to ensure morale stays high and his job intact. They were outplayed by City at the Parc De Princes, but considering Pochettino’s vast experience leading teams against the Citizens and English clubs in general, don’t write them off just yet.

On the injury front, things are looking good for both sides. Man City have only Garcia out, while PSG will have to do without the services of Letellier and Bernat, who miss out through injury. Gueye will miss the game due to a suspension, while Mbappe is a doubt, but is expected to play as this is a crucial game for PSG.
