FC Schalke 04 Vs Borussia Dortmund

Schalke 04 was defeated by Hoffenheim in their last Bundesliga match just before the match with their bitter rivals Borussia Dortmund as David Wagner is all set to return to his former club. Meanwhile, Dortmund has been unbeaten in their last eight-match run across all competitions, until recently been defeated by Inter Milan in the Champions League. Schalke has witnessed an impressive Bundesliga campaign this season and, even though it is on the 7^th rank on the table, they are actually only two points off surprise league leaders Borussia Monchengladbach.  They had a shaky start; picked up only single point from their opening two matches, Wagner then led his side on a four-match winning run to rise on the table. The last two league outings; however, have brought them only a single point and Schalke seem to struggle now, for consistency. The former Huddersfield Town boss expects his guys to portray more zeal in their upcoming game against title-challenging Dortmund than they did in their 2-0 defeat to Hoffenheim - as Wagner is managing the Dortmund's reserve team.

Dortmund's form prior to that loss had been impressive, however, having last lost a game in August, going on to record an eight-game unbeaten run. Favre's rank is fourth in the league and just a point off the top two as the Bundesliga bears see an early title race involving not less than nine teams. They are expecting to extend their undefeated to seven games as they are set for a clash with Schalke. Favre is also struggling for the fitness of main players Mats Hummels and Marco Reus and the absence of either of them or both, may become a source of big setback for the team for this important game. Nevertheless, right-back Lukasz Piszczek has returned to the training as a Dortmund's full-back options.
