Bayern Munich VS Bayer Leverkusen Game Preview 19 April 2021

The German champions against the Euro-football candidates will clash on Tuesday in the 30th matchday of the German Bundesliga. The Bavarians will look to bounce from their Champions League heartbreak in the hands of PSG, and finish strongly in the Bundesliga and win the league for the 9th time in a row. The Leverkusen side will look to beat the champions and break into the places that lead into Europe next season.

Bayern Munich have been on a decent run in recent days, but turmoil is shaking the club with the announcement of the Europa Super League, which Bayern declined to be part of. Coach Hansi Flick has announced his desire to leave the club after the season, amid reports that he’s set to take charge of the German national team from Joachim Low. Whether all this will reflect how Bayern will play remains to be seen, and this is the perfect game for that.

Bayer Leverkusen on the other hand have crashed out from other competitions earlier, and now only have the Bundesliga to focus on. They currently lie in 6th, with the chance to overtake Borussia Dortmund in 5th with a win at the Allianz Arena. After struggling with inconsistency, they’ve managed to put a good run of form in the last three games, so expect them to be up for it when they meet the Bavarians tomorrow.

When it comes to injuries, Bayern’s squad is all but depleted, with Costa, Tolisso, Lewandowski, Goretzka, Gnabry, Sule, Tillman, and Roca all out, while Hernandez is a doubt. The situation is also dire in Leverkusen, with Arias, Baumartlinger, Bender, Fosu-Mensah, and Wirtz all out of the tie.
